Will Shell’s total emissions be down by 45% in 2030? No – to the contrary: according to research by Global Climate Insights, Shell’s absolute emissions will increase by 4% by 2030.

At Shell’s shareholders’ meeting on December 10, Shell chairman Sir Andrew McKenzie dismissed investors’ concerns about emissions reductions as merely an issue of “absolute versus relative emissions”.
